"Health and Treatment in Ukraine"

On 4-6 December 2011, the Gorshenin Institute carried out a telephone survey about health and treatment in Ukraine.

As many as 1,000 randomly sampled adults, aged 18 years and older, living in all Ukrainian regions, as well as the cities of Kiev and Sevastopol, were interviewed. The region, sex and the age of respondents were selected as samples. The maximum margin of sampling error is +/-3.2 percentage points.

  • Very bad – 4.1%
  • No answer – 2.8%

How often do you get sick?

  • Very often – 6.2%
  • Often – 26.8%
  • Rarely – 59.3%
  • Practically never – 5.6%
  • No answer – 2.1%

Would you say that you take care of your health?

  • Definitely yes – 24.3%
  • Probably yes – 31.6%
  • Probably no – 23.9%
  • Definitely no – 16.7%
  • No answer – 3.5%

Do you try to have a medical checkup regardless of how well you feel?

  • Definitely yes – 16.2%
  • Probably yes – 20.1%
  • Definitely no – 34.2%
  • Probably no – 27.1%

When you feel sick, do you normally see a doctor or do you try to treat yourself?

  • Practically always see a doctor – 16.6%
